I mean, honestly - I’m not sure if the “ha ha Land Rover 109" is supposed to be covert or overt with that. The roof profile? The limestone-with-white-cap? The smooth body-color wheels? What else could it possibly be? I feel like Jeep is fucking with me.

Pretty overt. I think someone at Jeep thought “holy crap...there isn’t going to be a defender anymore...lets jump on that market!” and they went to their bosses to sell it and they were all “um...why don’t you build a Jeep Safari concept and we’ll see how it goes.” And he wept bitterly, because he knows that Jeep Safari is where production dreams go to die.
